Squirrel Scouts (4-6)

Squirrel Scouts are the newest and youngest section of the Scouting family, aged between 4 and 6 years old.

The Squirrels meet once a week (Wednesdays 4:30pm – 5:30pm) and take part in a wide range of activities.

Activities are based on a story that is told at the beginning. Learn through play, making things. learning new skills but best of all have fun. It is very child-led.
At this age, they absorb lots of information and always want to know more.
Squirrels follow the same Scouting structure as the other sections and the Squirrel promise will be the same as the Beaver one.
There are a few things that make Squirrels unique;
  • Child-led learning.
  • A focus on participation over achievement.
  • Organic peer leadership.
  • Adaptable and flexible sessions.
  • Stories for each session that is linked to the activity.

Squirrels start small but think big, making the very most of what they have and seeking out adventures wherever they go. Throughout their journey, you’ll help them work towards a range of skill-boosting badges and awards.
